Stevenson and Brigett Pangkey

Stevenson and Brigett Pangkey were married in 2004. They were looking for ways to share their life together and impact the community. They opened the Grand Terrace Academic Associates Learning Centers® in August of 2004. The business and their family have grown. The couple have two sons Skyler and Colton. They now are teaching and managing the Academic Associates Learning Center in Collegedale, TN which opened in January, 2014.

Stevenson, received his BA in History from La Sierra University.  He is a man of many talents he is especially patient with students who have struggled with reading. He has a way of making reading fun. Brigett completed her MA from California State University, San Bernardino in Curririculum and Instruction and is also a credentialed multiple subject teacher. She has spent more time recently teaching ESL students and is loving it.  

Stevenson and Brigett have been certified Irlen Screeners for Scotopic Sensitivity since 2009.  Stevenson and his 8 year old son both wear the Irlen filters and have benefited from them. Stevenson and Brigett remain committed to educating people about alternative techniques to improve reading, attention, and comfort. Alejandra Gutierrez

Alejandra has her BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from California State University, San Bernardino. She also has an AS degree in Mathematics from San Bernardino Valley College. Alejandra currently serves as the Office Manager of the Grand Terrace center. Alejandra is a Reading Instruction Specialist. She tutors reading, math, and other subjects.

 

Connie Hill

Connie brings 20 years of teaching experience to our learning center and is responsible for our new Early Literacy/Kinder program. This program is designed for children 4-5 who do not meet the cut-off age to enter school, are looking for a more highly academic pre-school setting or are home schooled and need assistance. Connie also teaches the reading program, tutors writing, and is a Reading Instruction Specialist. She has her BS in elementary education with an endorsement in early childhood development from Southwestern Adventist University.

Lacie Parsons

Lacie Parsons received her Bachelor of Science Degree from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA in Speech-Language Pathology. Early on she gained experience tutoring K-7 math and also helped children with homework. This experience was during her years at the university when she worked in a community outreach program also located in Stockton. Lacie has worked as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant for 6 years. She has gained a great deal of experience working with children of all ages and disabilities. Lacie is a Reading Instruction Specialist at AALC and tutors reading and math.
