What Motivates You?

Motivation… You either have it or you don’t. Why is this feeling sometimes so hard to find? My freshman year of high school, I remember sitting in class, my thoughts being carried off by my imagination and wishing that I was in another place. At this point in my life, I had zero motivation for success in school. I was immature and did not understand the benefits of working hard.  Looking back, I laugh at my ignorance. Lazy…what’s in a word?

Lazy. What does it mean? I can sit and read a book for hours and be totally content. Or go jump on my mountain bike and go for a spin on the trail. Last night we made a bonfire, roasted veggie-hot dogs & marsh mellows and mac n’ cheese with our kids. They had a blast! That was a lazy Sunday evening spent chilling and making memories. New beginnings

Life has a funny way of coming full circle. Eons ago I spent a year teaching English in Japan. It was great, challenging, fun, exhausting, enriching and any other adjective a person can think of. At the end of the year teaching was the furthest thing from my mind. So I worked for a company that made touch screen kiosks. I went to trade shows and conventions as the tech who kept the machines running for the clients. NY, FL, CA, CO, WI, IL, OR, MA, OH and Paris, France.
